Duke, the founder of Dodson Property Management and Dodson Development Group, is an authority in the real estate space in Richmond, Virginia. Duke is the past president of both the Richmond and Virginia chapters of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM) and has served on the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) Chapter 38 Board. He ultimately grew his property management company to manage an impressive 3,500 single-family homes, 2200 multi-family homes, 2.5 million square feet of commercial space, and 14,000 Home Owner Association doors, an impressive feat. Duke is on the boards of Evernest and Atrium Management, two prominent property management companies. Today, he discusses his best practices and important lessons he learned scaling and divesting his respective single-family and multifamily property management companies.
